Thank you for clarifying this, but I already read through this FAQ entirely.
Eve does not seem to be dependant on the current directory so it makes no
difference (in terms of the problem described) how I start it, may it be from
the very directory, by the desktop link that was created during installation
process or by something like env WINEPREFIX="/home/<username>/.wine" wine
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe". 
It just freezes after switching to the black screen after the splash.
