What is exact version of wine you are using? What does wine --version say?
Latest stable one is 1.0.1, and latest development one is 1.1.19. Could not
reproduce this bug on wine-1.1.19.

Try removing ~/.wine directory and reinstalling wtlibrary. Maybe there were
some errors during installation or some MEPS libraries are missing.
