The interesting bit of the log seems to be
  fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option 28 STUB
  fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option 29 STUB

You can work around this with native wininet, e.g.
  wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
  sh winetricks wininet
