I simply put comctl32.dll from Windows XP to .wine/drive_c/windows/system32.

Winetricks did not help. But I compiled and installed version 1.1.6 manualy and
now comctl32 override works as expected.

I use Mandriva 2009 64bit, but problem was confirmed on 32bit Mandriva too. It
seems more like problem of compilation or packing rpm for Mandriva (but there
is still a chance that something is broken in Wine, because I did not managed
to satisfy all wine dependences, so I compiled without some functions - see the
list below).

configure: libhal development files not found, no dynamic device support.
configure: libgnutls development files not found, no schannel support.
configure: lib(n)curses development files not found, curses won't be supported.
configure: libsane development files not found, scanners won't be supported.
configure: libgphoto2 development files not found, digital cameras won't be
supported.
configure: libcapi20 development files not found, ISDN won't be supported.
configure: libcups development files not found, CUPS won't be supported.
configure: libldap (OpenLDAP) development files not found, LDAP won't be
supported.

configure: WARNING: libxslt development files not found, xslt won't be
supported.
