I get the same symptoms as in wine (stuttering sound) when i run virtualbox OSE
2.0.4 with "host audio driver" set to alsa. Switching audio driver to OSS works
there as well.

It seems like this is not a problem only for wine.

This is on Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, alsa-base 1.0.17.dfsg-2ubuntu1
