Which is probably not the issue this bug is about.

Does the attached application display correctly and receive CJK text when
typed?

The application should receive garbage and display garbage in English locale.

In Japanese locale the application would display correctly if fonts worked in
Wine (currently displays nothing when the attached registry hack is applied)
and dueto the CJK input problem would receive nothing typed through CJK IMs.

I cannot test because UIM on Debian is broken.
