winecfg is a placeholder. Any executable causes a black screen.

Your can play card-like games this way if you are crazy (e.g. winemine): click
into your terminal window to see something; position your mouse over wine's
desktop window where you need to click; click (screen turns black); use alt-tab
to return to another window; repeat.
In other words, applications generally work, except everything is black.

A +ddraw,+d3d,+d3d_surface trace is not attached because it simply remains
empty when starting solely winecfg.
