I agree with Henri on this.

The best way to go is to write a test app that reproduces this without Wine -
e.g. a small glut based opengl app. It should be fairly easy to reproduce,
those glCompressedTexSubImage2D bugs usually are pretty easy to hit.

I don't think we should put in a workaround for this bug again. The long-time
use of glCompressedTexImage2D caused many other problems, and the best way to
get a driver fixed is to trigger its bug.
