Actually, I just tried it.  I didn't need to install msxml4 with Wine 1.1.28. 
I didn't see an .t2k files in my installation, but I did see a crash when
exiting the application without the patch applied, whereas I didn't with the
patch applied.  Under the assumption that this indicates the patch fixes the
bug, I went ahead and sent it in.  Confirmation that it works for you would be
helpful, since I don't actually use the program.
