I am now using Fedora 12, which has wine 1.1.32-1.

I just tried installing the same program. This time, I actually get a GUI
dialog box, which, however, merely reports an error. I would add an attachment
with the error message, but since I need to keep on clicking on the close
button of that dialog box to get the next stderr line, it becomes tedious. I am
posting a little excerpt of the reported errors, instead, and will report more
when you guide me through the process.

$ wine installa.exe 
wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0x68374293 (thread 001b), starting
debugger...                                                                     
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000002a at address 0x6845b134
(thread 001d), starting debugger...                                             
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000002a at address 0x6af69134
(thread 0021), starting debugger...    

The above goes on and on endlessly (well, until I pressed CTRL-C).
