I have checked my drivers. The nvidia v96 closed driver was disabled somehow.
Previously I have enabled v95 and don't remember to touch settings afterwards.
 It seems, that after an auto update the new driver version was auto disabled.
(?) 

After enabling the closed driver, Wine 1.1.33 works fine with H3.
