I've confirmed that this does occur in Windows in the latest version of
EditPlus (3.12 build 531), so this is not a bug in wine.

I'll also echo Bartosz Brachaczek in the comment above me - it's not actually a
bug at all; the syntax highlighter is behaving properly, because in C/C++ it's
not valid to put an actual newline inside a quoted string like that.

If you try the same thing in something like gedit, you'll see exactly the same
behavior.
