The following procedure works for me on OS X 10.5.6, using port install
wine-devel (v1.1.15) and TntMPD version r73

winetricks winxp
winetricks mdac28
winetricks jet40
cp mssign32.dll ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32
cp mapi32.dll ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32
winetricks riched20
winecfg # add mssign32 mapi32 to the Libraries list
