Hello,

what is the current state of this bug?
What hacks/workarounds are currently needed/what unofficial patches exist that
didn't make it into GIT?
What are you blocking on?

I encountered similar issues for .NET Framework 3.x (sub)installers and fixed
some of them without having seen this bug.
There are larger ones, requiring more work but I don't want to duplicate stuff
when some fixes are already in the works here...
