The page fault is still present in 1.1.12, although the output has changed (I
am not longer getting the full dump on stderr). 

It suggested that I used "ulimit -c unlimited" to enable coredumps, which I did
and re-ran the application; though I could find no coredump in the directory
after it crashed again.
