Sorry, my mistake.  I should have said the value ComputerName in the key 
HKLM\Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ComputerName\ComputerName

Change that to match your username.  You'll also have to add a string registry
value UseDnsComputerName in the key HKCU\Software\Wine\Network and set its
value to "0".

Or, change your Unix hostname to match your username.

Still, workaround or no, this appears to be a bug and should be fixed.
