I know how to code. :)

Though I know very less about the Wine internals at the moment. I planned
already multiple times to get involved a bit in the Wine development but
actually never came to it.

Now again could be the time as I would really like to be able to play this
game. But I really need some hints where I could start.

For example: How can I figure out how GTA4 checks if RGSC is running and how
can I make it think that RGSC is running? (If I would be able to do this, I
would not need to run RGSC in the background; something I don't want to do
anyway.) I wonder how the others here have solved this problem as they don't
seem to have it.

Then after I have overcome this problem, it seems (other reported that here)
that GTA4 fails because of some unimplemented D3D functions. Where can I get
some documentation what these unimplemented function should do?
