Could be a packaging error, or regression as some work was done in that area.
try with a new prefix, check with latest git (build from source). Once you have
Git installed run a regression test to pinpoint the change that caused the
problem. See http://wiki.winehq.org/Developers for info on Git, regression
testing and recommended packages
