I did as suggested, removed Wine and reinstalled using the latest beta version
as suggested.  The problem has gotten worse.

Quicken loaded and shows on the "C" Drive.  When I attempt to run quicken, it
appears as if it is trying to load eg. (the wheel rotates where the cursor was)
but nothing happens.

I have tried to load from the "shortcut left on the Desktop" and by running the
program from the Applications/wine programs menu.  Nothing happens either way.

I did not use winetricks as I was warned a long time ago about using this or
any other addon that might appear for Wine.

Gee this is frustrating.
