and one more thing with KProbe2 (version 2.5.2)

It is able to see SATA attached DVD RW with ASPI driver

(cdrecord -scanbus)

but it can also use SPTI (SCSI Passthrough) access, it doesnt see SATA HL-DT-ST
then, but sees SONY DVD RW , attached via IDE port
The scanning doesnt work in SPTI mode.
