Huh.  But your log also seems to show an excess(?) of space bar events (and
ends in a crash, I see...)

My window manager is xfce, but I doubt that has anything to do with anything. 
I'll check SS2 with and without key repeat enabled.

My key repeat parameters are 500ms latency, 30ms repeat interval.
