It's still around.

I wrote a few test applications three months ago which gave me the same errors
and concluded it's because of the known problem with code injection (bug 13915
might be the same or related if true).  A page on the Wine Wiki[1] has some
information under the TODO heading, the linked thread[2] is worth reading.
