I can confirm similar behaviour on my system. Running on Archlinux i686 kernel
2.6.29.3. Using precompiled wine 1.1.23 from repos.

I'm not using PulseAudio, just plain ALSA.

Also on my settee the game hangs and doesn't exit until killed :(

I tried by using saved games from windows installation without any further
success.
