Then why is there is a /users/Alice/Favorites/ if it is not used?
It is empty.

Microsoft provides some default .url files in there. So why shouldn't you?
It would provide better integration, as the Wine link would appear in Explorer,
Internet Explorer and other file managers, browsers and other software that
imports favorites/bookmarks from the Favorites folder in the user's home
directory.

Only 111 bytes is needed, and it can be implemented in less than a minute.
