Works fine. Problem was that I was piping the output away and checking the exit
status. The crash is gone, but a new 'failure' is introduced:

mci.c:56: Test succeeded inside todo block: mciSendString(close all notify,
buf, sizeof(buf) , NULL) changed output buffer: 


Remove that todo and the test passes with/without +heap :-).
