Given this info, I suspect that comment 7 was actually correct
- due to a compiler bug that commit was not a no-op.

However, if that actually the case, there's no real fix
for that that can be done in wine, as it's nearly impossible
to tell in how many places in the code similar problems happen.

A while ago, I've opened a similar bug about freeciv
in gcc bugzilla, now it seems that more apps are affected.
