I can confirm this bug. More importantly I can confirm that this isn't NVidia
driver bug or X server bug because everything works, including Alt+Tab so I can
easily switch to the console, type killall Morrowind.exe and xrandr -s 0 to
"repair" my resolution.

To bug reporter: try to update your NVidia driver. For me with GeForce 8600 GT
and 180.27 X server doesn't hang and I can easily kill the game as I explained
before. BTW, you can also try to use Alt+SysRq+K instead of Alt+Ctrl+Backspace
- it will work even if X server is dead (but only if the Linux kernel is still
alive and you have support for SysRq keys compiled in).
