This is what the screen looks like immediately after the crash. The box in the
center should say that the program has crashed, but it does not display
properly.  The DragonBar in the upper right-hand corner stops displaying
properly (the black text is an error). And in the upper left-hand corner, bits
of wine or dragon message partially cover over my program icons. 

I get lots of the following message. 

err:ole:OleLoadPicture IPersistStream_Load failed
fixme:gdiplus:GdipCreateHBITMAPFromBitmap stub
fixme:bitmap:SetDIBits shouldn't require a DC for DIB_RGB_COLORS

And this is the last line I see before the crash.

DIB_RGB_COLORSerr:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x221bf6e4 "?" wait
timed out in thread 0021, blocked by 002a, retrying (60 sec)
