I can confirm this problem in latest WINE 1.1.20.

My system is: UBUNTU 8.10
              nVidia GEFORCE 7300 GS
              1 GB RAM
              Intel Celeron 3.1 Gz Processor

The game run slowly than Windows XP.

The problem is in Direct Input.
