Yes, still an issue. I get this with an ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200
PRO], with open source 3D drivers.

Thinking through what I've seen of braid screenshots with similar black/white
colours on startup, could this be due to cards not supporting shader model 2? I
know this is the case for many Intel integrated cards.
