Mihail, another request: do you have a Wine tree compiled? Does the problem
persist if you run 'wine notepad.exe' from inside the Wine build tree?
(There is no need to uninstall existing Wine binaries, but just in case
you might try to do that as well as an additional troubleshooting step).
