Since applying the patch, I haven't experienced any crashes while playing the
game or saving. However, after logging on to battlenet, then going to the chat
screen, I get a crash with an error message saying that memory could not be
read. This happened three times in a row so far. It takes a while (~2-3
minutes) on the chat screen until it happens. This is with the recent 1.23
warcraft III: TFT patch and the latest wine. Does anybody else encounter this?

Yes, this is new behavior since the recently released, mandatory 1.23 update
for warcraft 3 / battle.net.
There is a bug already created for it. Please continue discussion on that topic
here:

Saves Bug is present in 1.1.22 yet.
The patch we can find here works like a charm.
It does not seems to affect my others applications / games, maybe we should
include it in wine 1.1.23.

I believe the developers are waiting for someone to write a small test
application for the iocp race that works in windows and causes the crash in
wine.
