Hello,

bug 6807 has the same problem.

"Project 2003" doesn't seem to suffer from this problem anymore (starts ok).

Looking at new wine-1.1.22 execution trace logs, it seems the startup
behaviour/timing has changed due to modifications in several Wine components,
not exhibiting the race between main app and splash screen.

I suggest to close this one as duplicate of bug 6807
