Thanks for the follow-up, Frank.  Now we have a new culprit:

> 324091  GNUTLS ERROR: Function was interrupted.

This indicates the error is no longer in crypt32 (w00t!), and it's moved on to
an schannel error.  You could try the patch in bug 3254:
