For me the following registry key helped (wine 1.1.32):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alsa Driver\AutoScanDevices -> yes

The two dmix:0 devices disappeared from the list and all installed devices
appeared with their real names.

Only testing in the control panel didn't work, because it always used the first
device from the list (which was my external USB Device).
