So, guys! Any update on solving this?

Because I am in a deadlock situation with Warcraft. If it were only saves I
would have no problems not saving during the level and just playing the
campaign through. But if I don't save, the game crashes within 20-30 minutes of
playing anyway. So I HAVE to save since 20 minutes is not enough for playing
through a standard campaign level, and saving crashes pretty often.

Also, note that in earlier levels of the game I can save many times and nothing
happens. I actually started experiencing save problems later on in the human
campaign, when I was playing in the North levels and Frostmourne level.
Starting from that. Before that I saved heavily being afraid the game would
crash and it was ok.

I see the patch is suggested, yet many people say it broke something else. So
is it worth applying?

Also, how do I apply? I've read help as suggested, but did not understand
fully. Do I have to save contents of the patch as in the link into the test
file? How should I name this text file?

What if Wine doesn't compile? (simpler programms failed to compile for unknown
reasons on my system, really. Wine is such a major thing i am not sure it will
work). Will I loose all my Wine installed software?
