Hi, I'm a newbie and a no native english speaker so please forgive me for any
error.
I'm using ubuntu9.10 and i've tried to play command and conquer by using the
latest wine version but it hasn't worked. It crashed when I clicked on the
"play" button after the map had been loaded.
So I've searched through to fix it and I removed the latest wine version to
install the 1.24 since it has been ranked as "gold" but now it is very slow
since the loading of the first menu page.
this is the only message I get by the console:

fixme:d3d:getFormatDescEntry Can't find format unrecognized(909201952) in the
format lookup table
r300VertexProgUpdateParams:Params exhausted
