Inactive brush sweep across canvas

Program startup produces:

fixme:rpc:RpcMgmtWaitServerListen not waiting for server calls to finish
fixme:ntoskrnl:KeInitializeSpinLock stub: 0x6577a4
fixme:wintab32:X11DRV_WTInfoW Return proper size
fixme:advapi:SetEntriesInAclA 1 0x14b1ed8 0x1b81cc 0x15be97c

There is no additional terminal output as a result of painting with a brush.

See attachment of example brush trails.  Note that this sweep of the
mouse/brush cursor from right to left did not have Left Mouse Button down, i.e.
there should not be any painting of the canvas.
