I am having a good deal of trouble getting consistent behaviour. I installed
mpg123, and also samba (to take care of the ntlm_auth error). Here's what
happened immediately after I did that.

1. Launched Half-Life 2, it loaded fine. Laggy, but I lowered graphics
settings. When I tried to modify the shader quality, Half-Life 2 crashed
("hl2.exe has encountered a serious error" or some such, in the popup). But
Steam and Wine were just fine.

2. Launched Half-Life 2, got the message "hl2.exe has encountered a serious
error".

3. Launched Half-Life 2, Wine crashed entirely just like when I first submitted
this bug.

4. Launched Wine + Steam, then Half-Life 2. Got the message "hl2.exe has
encountered a serious error".

As you can see I'm getting really inconsistent behaviour. I'm not fully sure I
see the point in posting logs (+relay, +seh, +tid) until I can consistently
replicate my own reported behaviour.
