Still present with wine 1.1.30 on ubuntu 9.04.

Additionally, the drawing UI becomes unusable when performing these steps:

Create a slide with a shape (e.g. a rectangle)
Select a connector (e.g. elbow connector)
Move the mouse pointer near the shape.

The drawing area changes colour and the shape's handles are visible.

Most of powerpoint now becomes unusable.  The connector drawing operation won't
complete and other editing tasks can't be performed.  Fortunately you can close
the document to clear the blockage and choose to save if necessary.
