Screen tearing and performance loss isn't apparently in Compiz shipped with
Ubuntu 10.04 (1:0.8.4-0ubuntu13) so I guess we wait a month for this to go
away.  

Those using Ubuntu 9.10 who haven't updated recently I suggest holding back
your Xorg/Compiz updates.  

Those who have already updated and don't want to jump to 10.04 can simply open
a terminal and run metacity --replace and then play TF2 with Rasmus'
workaround.
