It can be confirmed here also. Running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, I installed Wine 1.2.0
from the official repositories and Diablo 2 together with it. Technically the
game was running fine (2-3 months usage time), but today I was surprised to
notice that the folder 'Content.IE5' contained about ~6,500 junk files á 256Kb
each, totalling in at 1,7Gb.
Maybe it is indeed the update utility that creates those nonsense files.
