Problem also seen using wine 1.1.36 when trying to install abel370 (an upgrade
for the bell ringing simulator Abel, available from the download page of
http://www.abelsim.co.uk/). Here are a couple of attempts at installing the
software:-

[root at Linux Downloads]#    wine abel370.exe
X Error of failed request:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
  Major opcode of failed request:  18 (X_ChangeProperty)
  Resource id in failed request:  0x4c00005
  Serial number of failed request:  1034
  Current serial number in output stream:  1112
[root at Linux Downloads]# wine abel370.exe
X Error of failed request:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
  Major opcode of failed request:  18 (X_ChangeProperty)
  Resource id in failed request:  0x5400005
  Serial number of failed request:  1034
  Current serial number in output stream:  1112

So the problem is repeatable, but the Resource id varies.


When I first attempted the installation I received a pop up window requesting
an installation of Gecko. I followed the recommendation on the winehq website
and downloaded wine_gecko-1.0.0-x86.cab.
