Does wine enable some blocking firewall settings? I am trying to
see if I can view SlingPlayer through a firefox browser. SlingMedia
has an option where one can view the sling player through firefox
and IE web browsers after installing a plug-in.

I can see my slingbox devices on the network and I can see the lights
activated on the slingbox(es), but then I get a message
"There was an error connecting to the box. Please check your network, firewall
and router settings." <Retry>

It just seems I am blocked every way trying to get this sling player
to run in Linux.

I guess now I see why people are slaves to Windows. I was trying to
change to Linux, but it is just a problem getting things installed
and running in this environment.
