As announced in comment #57 I've tried the Lobby demo with the modifications
from comment #45, but I still don't see the persons/characters. It still looks
like what I've described in comment #52.

Additionally I can confirm what cruiseoverride stated in comment #58:
high-quality demos are dead slow. I think the highest FPS value I saw was in
the car demo with 4 FPS.
