I just tried this with the new wine 1.1.39.  It no longer crashes,
though it did crash when I installed SlingPlayer.
The only problem now is that it does not connect to my slingbox.
I can see the slingboxes I have on the network and even see
the internal information: IP address, open port, video source/port
information.  I just get the message there is a problem communicating
with the Slingbox.  Are there some ports I need to open in Linux?
I obviously have the ports open in my router as I am using Slingbox
in Windows and externally (outside my network).

Well this is some progress, but I still cannot view my slingbox :((
