Say, since you're on a mac, you might give Crossover a shot
instead of Wine.  It might have some extra polish to help
you past this situation.

Wine's dxdiag isn't real enough to be used a a diagnostic tool...
hopefully somebody will finish cleaning up the ucla code
so it can be committed.
