I have the same problem with wine 1.1.32 on debian sid (amd64).

the cursor will move around if i move the mouse vigorously but it immediately
snaps back to a small region in the center of the screen or window.  this makes
it impossible to click on any of the menu items, so can't start a game.   can't
even click on the OK button when pressing Esc to exit the game...have to kill
HOMM5 from a terminal.
