Interestingly, when you run cygwin.bat and it spews that infinite
series of warnings, at some point it starts listening for commands
on the commandline like it should. Typing
exit
causes the shell to exit, and typing
cat
successfully runs cat, echoing your input without any warnings.
That said, there is an installation failure: I was unable to install gvim,
it kept crapping out with various warnings about files in use.
