OK, my DVD drive has these permissions:

s -l /dev/sr0
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Jul  4 17:54 /dev/sr0

and I wasn't in cdrom group.

As soon as I become a member of this group, Opti Drive Control started
functioning correctly.

Nonetheless, applications should NOT crash if a user doesn't have enough
permissions to access optical drives.
